August Air

I am so far behind in my blogging, I feel like I will never see daylight again! LOL ever feel like that guys!?

August is just slipping by me, I can't believe it is the middle of the month already! I have hardly got my to do list done this summer and guess what....My oldest moves 1 week from today back to college! UGH,

Any how, I do have this next week off and I hope to be able to catch up on several projects, plus get a lot of stuff done around here in the yard, garden and such.

this is a start of one of my projects today.....lids still popping as I type this, I pulled half a row of beets and came to the house with 3 bags full. So far only one bag completed to process, and I have 7 quarts full now and still getting some ready to peel and cut!

I tried a new recipe, pickled green beans, I am going to share this over in my gardening ganders blog, they are sooooooooooooo good, and super easy to do, I got this recipe from a co-worker!

I was up early this morning, Green beans are keeping me super high and busy! So far I have done 25 pint jars, have given tons of em away and they are still flowering! LOL
Any how today is my first day of 10 for vacation, Im not really planning on going any where other than local stuff to do....one the time and 2 the cost of stuff, but its ok. next yr I will just maybe be more prepared,
So far today I did up 6 pints of green beans and 12 quarts of beets, one load of laundry, picked some more out of the garden, I have the water hose running down on our little trees (which is on my list to do as they really need weeding!) I took off this morning for about 2 hours, went to buy some more quart jars, and I also treated myself to a massage, talk about heavenly! Well at least until I came back through the door! LOL
Will post more tomorrow! Headed over to update garden ganders

Frenzy Friday

Well another week comes to a close! I am glad I have a much needed three day weekend off! I am not answering my phone or going any place unless I have to....and right now that is not even close to the agenda!

I did do some gardening this week, things are coming along just awesome...I used some zu's and made fresh bread, froze up a few bags of peas and gonna do green beans tomorrow!

Will post some produce on my gardening ganders for ya to peek at!

Below in the photo you can see my little Chiuahuah is playing with one the babies, they all give him a run for their time! He just might lose the pound he found this summer!

Bee is gonna get that ball no matter what! They call her spider in the game cause shes got such long arms and legs....not many balls get by that girl! Shes 6'0 now and gonna be a Junior in high school...so hard to believe!

Well we got a start on the whet harvest....this day was only to take out one complete round to do a moisture content test.
It has been a while since we got rain but tonight just as I was setting supper on the table hubby says its getting black in the west....I ran out and got the clothes off the line and no more got back in the house and this is what hit! It got black, high winds, and only .4 of rain...we are soooo dry....soy beans are starting to show some stress.

Looking out over the driveway a few times we couldnt even see it! Hopefully we get more rain that would be awesome!

Tuesday Thoughts

Another cloudy cooler day and no sunshine.....and no rain, we are so dry and need rain! In spite of it all the crops do look good but certainly will not last long if the dryness keeps up.

I am still working on the sewing room/craft area...man I really need to reorganize and clean this mess up...I already have one very large box of just random books and things to send out to salvation army...In the midst of my cleaning I came across a box of OLD old photos from like 10 years back! So gonna get some of them sorted today as well as the rest of my fat quarteres moved...yep an all day project !!

I thought I would share with you a few little events happening in our lives through-out the summer months!

Hubby and daughter getting ready for a parade last weekend, our daughter (youngest) is the Threshing Queen, she has been in 11 parades this summer so far and gives up her royalty in August! It certainly has been a fun year of eating events and and parades, meeting new people and just haveing fun!
Ok, not exactly what I have in mind but I want to create and GREEN background and tried to fill the area with palm trees, not good I know but practice makes perfect, I like the tiger and not sure if I will keep that as is or not but is gonna be MAYBE my painting subject LOL,. subject to change though!

Well our little kittens are certainly growing! We bring them up t the house daily so they can learn to climb trees and just learn the yard in general. They are so tame and fun to watch at night! Even my little chi dog likes to play with them!

I took this one afternoon through a tree while out walking...I love photos like this! Just brings a sense of peace and bliss in...and with that I hope you all have a great day!

Its Friday!!!

Yippeeee am sooooooooooo glad it is Friday, one of the little gals from college came back to us at work and was seeking hours...Guess who could give her some!! YEP Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Oh I am sooooo glad to be off a few days!

Yesterday I was assisting hubby out by the grain bins, he decided to add a ring onto one to make more capacity for storage, simple enough right?
WRONG, after 2 hours of bending over with air wrench and lord only knows how many nuts and bolts taken out...we were part ways done!

Today I go to get out of bed and my lower left backside is in PAIN, it is slightly swollenand I took some tylenol and hit the old ice pack and groaned!

Not to mention I have been moving furniture and cleaning..Oh ya and I am moving my crsfting and sewing back to the basement, the little room just could not hold all of my stuff....now do i really need to clean out or what,

Which remind me...I like so much...I sew, crochet, cross stictch, trying to learn to paint by influence of my sister!! I also do embroidery work, collect nuemrous things,....I am luterally running out of room,...how do you choose just one thing to do..or choose to downsize...My fabric stash alone could fill a wall of a bedroom easily..I have s ome stuffed in totes, Im talking like 6 totes, I have 3 large shelves for fat quarters....one alone for books....LOL well I am sure you get the picture by now, I really do need to organize and clean out but how and where to begin when i love doing it all and want to learn more?

Ok so thats my brain picking for the day gonna go hit the bed and some ice packs again and HOPEFULLY dull the pain by morning!

have a great weekend gang!

Wednesday Wisdoms

Ok remember the site I posted about doing collage, .... I think it is in the previous post any how I decided to upload one of my collages tonight,...so far this one is my favorite...perhaps later I will go back and do some more embelishments and add some paint or inks.....but for now through this process I am very satisfied!! I hope others share their work too!

Oh man another hot day in Western Minnesota!...but still cool in the house so not turning on the air ....*whew* just might make it to the 4th and no AC yet!/

Kids are still busy working...I am proud of my daughters, earning and saving their way to things they want and places they wish to go to....Certainly helps a lot!

However my youngest this week had a terrible dose of reality hit her when a fellow classmate of hers was killed in an accident, new family within the year here and my daughter said even though she was not best of buds with the guy he was a great young man and everyone liked him....so she is now at 16 going to her first funeral outside of a family member.

My husbands uncle took a bad turn in his battle with cancer this week too....right now in the hospital and not certain what lies ahead there...so dare I say concern and stress all rolled into one...

Makes me think hard about this life of ours and all it holds for us, perhaps is a wise thing we can not see into the future.

I also dug out my water colors, tried to duplicate the floral painting we learned to do in class....well why is it it turns out MUCH better in class than at home on my own...*Sighs* BUT I did end up with a very pretty green background out of the cobbled up mess....LOL But Ill keep trying! Might turn those into ATC's.

I think tomorrow will be a heavy garden day for me when I get home...weeds and watering, radishes are all eaten up and not too much longer peas will be ready!! Oh FUN happy canning and freezing!!

Any how I am gonna work on another collage so will close this tonight and wish you all the best of what is left for the week!
