Oldest daughter turns 21 tomorrow, so hard to believe! She does get a few hours to come home and go to church with us tomorrow, so we ordered an ice cream cake for her, and going to just spend the few hours we have together visiting and then go out to eat dinner and she will be headed back to Marshall to work...not much time for us any more but I do threasure the time she allows for us,

I hope each and everyone of you have a Blessed Easter.

Creative Creations

Oh how I love it when my daughter gets a burst of *lets make a quilt * LOL this is her idea of quilting but hey, at least she decided to make a birthday gift for her best friend and it took her under 3 hours~
I am finally able to get to my shop and get some creative juice flowing again......Had a few requests for bracelets in my shop so got those made and decided to put a few up in etsy as well.
They are fun and easy to make. Not sure why I do not bead more, both of my daughters love to make things with the beads
Just a simple strand sometimes is all we need
I made a few of these and gave them to ladies at the home, no clasp on them, just use the large stone and connect into a link of the bracelet....they love these! and I love making them!
Oh art trading cards, always fun and of course I have spring on the brain.....so here is a few of what i created in the last few days.

...

The snow is melting good, been in the 40's so all is well, I might find a garden spot under the snow bank yet!!

Any how that is all from here for now, will be back in a few days to share more goodies!

Not forgotten

I can not believe how fast time flies when you get busy! *laughs* Like no one else in this world is busy!! It has been two weeks since i have even looked or been in blogger and I am far behind in posting and more important READING!!

It is cold, damp, raining with a forecast of sleet on the way later today and tomorrow. Smells like Spring outside but certainly does not feel like it!

I have been busy getting this 18 yr old ready for prom....can not wait to share the dress this year! Certainly not what mom would have picked but it looks good on her....Hope we can get someplace this weekend and look at ties for the young man and some extra hair stuff for her. Prom is May 7, so got a little ways to go and I have some things to do with the dress to complete it....

I have been busy in the scrap book world trying to get her basketball album (Sr yr) done., I have like 6 more pages to go.... that will be a huge relief for me when it is completed as I am running out of ideas.....so if any one out there has some good ideas for a lay out in a basketball theme I am open for ideas!

Not much else happening here, the garden spot is still under a 5 foot bank of snow so that is not happening any time soon, I did however buy some new pots to put out for graduation,. so got to get those seeds started soon!

Hopefully it will not be another two weeks before I return, need to set 1 day a week in the evening aside and work on this.

Blessings to all~~

The end of Basketball for Bee

On Feb 24, our daughter told us the coach was looking to house a spaghetti feed for the varsity team, but due to things being hectic in their lives...(him and his wife) and such a short notice he did not know how this was going to happen. As our daughter told the story I said we can do this!! If we all work as a team we can pull this off.....soooooooo

I made some salad, and filled a roaster full of spaghetti and 4 loaves of garlic bread.

On the night of the 25th, we housed and fed 15 girls, one coach, my husband and myself.

They came in some shifts due to other busy things but that was ok, no one went away hungry!

Even had a few show up that were not on varsity but we fed them any how LOL

I would not have missed this for the world! These young ladies were totally awesome, not just as a team but to sit back and listen to them all visit and their poor coach he is soo sadly out-numbered....but with a continuous smile on his face.... he just chimed right in!

chatter chatter chatter

they all got up said thanks I even got a huge hug from the coach and many of the girls and they thanked us for allowing this to happen on such a short notice....

they went back for more and talked for a good hour...good times good company

I did not leave my kitchen..... but I did not complain this time.... :)

as they completed and got done the wii came out and the tunes went on and those girls

danced......shared......cried and laughed.......danced some more

and some more...this night was almost as a good as prom night to a parent, to see them all as a *family* and team and having fun....
The house sure got quiet when they all left but was so awesome and I am so thankful I was a ble to do this for the team!

Last night we played 3 AA sections, our second conference game and we lost.....so my daughters high school basketball career comes to an end....

Had some rough plays.....touch defense..... we had a few turn overs and some missed free throw shots.... and in the end it all matters and of course cost the game

But they still had fun......

Until the final buzzer came to an end of course but we led most of the game and simply could not make it back but we made them work for it!!

All of a sudden this little young lady (8th grader) comes up to Bee and says "I have watched you play since I was little and I want to be like you, you have inspire me so much " Thats when mom lost it!!! Any how she asked for a photo :) Touching but emotions running high for me and for my daughter!!
This morning as I got up at 3 a.m. getting ready for work and grumbling about the weather and another load of laundry.... more tears fell as I realized I would never again wash number 34!!
Makes me wonder what we will call normal now!! 7 years of basketball... thanks for allowing me to share part of the journey! :)

End of Feb into March

The above photo is a glimpse of a ride home...I hate fog and white out conditions, Today the youngest daughter and I went shopping for prom items and roads were great when we left at noon after church, but when we came home at 5:30 this evening they were horrible. We could only do 30 m.p.h. and drifts were building up...Well one good thing about it, she got some winter driving experience in!!
This was the final (high school) game, They are now is Subsections, we are ranked second in our district right now and play again on Tuesday night. I hope for their sakes they can win!!
Our oldest drove up and surprised us...well surprised her sister with balloons and flowers for her final night.

Now that it is end of the month again I am updating my goal list that I created at the start of the new year!! Just my own way to be accountable and on track *laughs* funny how that works! I will only post the ones that I am currently working on or have completed.

In like a lamb or lion

I can not believe it is soon March! I can not help but wonder if it will enter like a lamb or a lion! I can not recall a winter like this since 1997,....(not a good year)

I have spent a total now of 11 nights at work, I worked I do not know how many 16 hr shifts and managed to catch 4-6 hrs of sleep and arise and pull another 8 hours,..... Some day soon I am just going to fall and sleep for a day or two!

But for now I can not,...way too busy to slow this life of ours for some reason. Basketball Sections begin tomorrow night!! I hope our girls can make it to state. My baby is now done with her high school career games and we have had Sr night, and parent night and of course I cried ...(such a wimp) So I will be updating some photos over the weekend I hope!

I have had very little time to create anything fun other than my daughters scrap book which I will try and capture some photos this weekend and get them posted.

Tomorrow I have to sew some little girls (4 to be exact) brownie sashes for the local troop.... many of the moms do not sew and I told them I could put their patches on! kind of miss those days :)

Then when i get that done I get to take my daughter and go prom dress shopping!! Can you believe it is that time of year again.....Anxious to see what she chooses this year!

Well until I update this over the weekend I hope you are all safe and warm!

Winter time Formals

It is beyond me why Schools have WINTER Formal!! My gosh Id not wear anything like that in summer let alone winter LOL but she is young and can pull this off!! The young man is a friend from SD, I thought they both dressed up well ! :)
The group that came to our home to get ready!! The three young ladies have grown up together and been friends all through school and now they all graduate in a few months, I will miss the days like this!
Her car died, was time to say so long any how so this is what we ended up with and I wanted to trade for this Bonneville and she could have my impala but she drives a hard bargain and no deal was made :)
The next day I go to leave for work and this is what I opened the garage to...ARG. enough of this stuff already! I love the pretty snow when it is Christmas time but we have more than our share!
Even Felix thinks we have had enough snow. This is by the front door. right now it is -2 with -33 wind chill factor. I have tomorrow off so maybe will get caught up on a few things around here!

So until next time have a great week and stay warm!
