busy is good right?

I love the camera I got that can capture these action shots!! I will be frantically soon putting the end touches on the basketball scrap book....
I never knew how many faces she can pose in a game LOL so serious looking! #34 in black
Contemplating!! The team came out now with two more wins, we are tied with three other teams for second place in our conference, Tomorrow night we travel south to Montevideo so I hope we can beat them!!
I have been busy in between basketball, and work doing some crafting.......created some collage felt pins
buttons and lace and beads

Then I took buttons and silk flowers and began creating more pins,
This one is my favorite....
They are super fast and easy to do.....not sure if I will give them as gifts or stick them in etsy
either way I am sure they will be bound to find a good home!

The photos below are for someone to peek at that is interested in looking at the John Deere fabric that I listed in Etsy,...will be taken down soon as I know she peeked at it....

Thanks for stopping by and hope all of you have a great week!!

Getting things done!

Well I FINALLY got caught up on that new addition hubby worked so hard on...I for the life of myself could not find just the RIGHT furniture.....or the RIGHT rug and about drove all of the family nuts to get this room completed but here it is for now any how :)
Looking into the room from the bay window
rug and floor....the floor is actually a wood laminate
Chancer loves to sit out there when i am working on my projects....I LOVE those windows and now I must decide on window coverings and can not seem to come to an agreement with hubby LOL
I got a new toy!! Hubby bought me anew digital camera.....Nikon D3100 and I can just aim and shoot and it managed to get some awesome action shots!
almost got it
You would think for 6 feet tall that girl would have a bigger stride LOL
ahhhhh got it!
Lets go team!

and away we go....believe it or not this particular game we play at KMS last week and we lost by 1 point they got a basket as the buzzer rang grrrrr...

Tis a great thing we have basketball to keep us busy in the winter....got a few makeup games, been so cold, right now as I work on this we show a -17 and the other day when I got off of work it was - 23. School has closed early.....canceled..... and not even opened this winter, Been a few years since it was this harsh on us...

I have been going through boxes in the basement, you know the ones we try not to look at... but I figure with graduation coming I best hop to it and get some things done......hopefully in a few days I will show some progress of things I have been working on!

So until then.....Have a Blessed safe weekend!

First week of activities

Right before New Years I got the honor to puppy sit again for a friends lil man, His name is Boo, Is he not adorable!? Boo and my lil Chancer have play dates while mt friend and I sit and visit, or get creative, do journals and angel cards, No better way to spend a day with a friend!
Told Boo to Smile for the camera and this is the best he gave me!!
He spent a few days bonding with Becky, who actually thinks this puppy stage is fun!! He really was a good little guy! No accidents in the house so who am I to complain??
Well so far this week I did spend a few hours learning to cast on....and worked on the knit stitch.... tore it apart and did it again working on the perl stitch, Or is that spelled Purl? Hmmm I will have to look into that!
Any how now I am trying my hand at a scarf....again trying to get the right tension down,I cast on 20 and then did 4 knit and 4 perl, alternating to the end, kind of a fun design....hopefully at the week's end I will have a few more rows added on...slow process for me for sure but a fun one!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I love new Beginnings, Not just a new year, but think of all as a new beginning, a new birth, a new day, new weeks and new months, perhaps a new relationship, new friendship, Oh the list could go on and on..... I always have believed that everything new in our life appears for a reason, not long it might perhaps become an "old" in our life but some times if we take the time to quiet the mind and sit and reflect how we felt when things were NEW, it brings back that spark or the calm we seek to begin fresh,.

I spent some time catching up in blogs that I love to read, and as I read a few of them found myself inspired, in awe, amazed and last but not least totally blessed to have these connections and friends! I truly have been blessed and wanted to say THANK YOU for being in this part of my life.

Last week I created a list of things I want to accomplish in 2011...no particular rhyme or reason to it... but thought I would share some of them here...

1. Learn to knit (scarf or dishcloths)

2. Complete 3 water color paintings,

3. Complete 3 collages

4. Participate in 3 ATC swaps

5. Make 36 ATC cards (3 for each month and what the month resembled)

6. 3 Orphanage quilts

7. Learn some new embroidery stitches.

8. Learn to do a thread sketch

10. Crochet 2 backpacks

11. Lose 25 -50 pounds

12. Eat at least 1 piece of fruit each day

13. Make 2 doilies

14. Crochet 1 filet hanging

15. Sew some gift bags with draw strings

16. Add more flowers to the Reiki Garden

17. Take 1 college course. ( not sure what at this time)

18. Do more with my angel cards.

19. Organize at least two things a month, room or drawers

20. Work on the book my sister and I began writing 6 years ago.

21. Create 3 small art quilts

22. Create a home made journal

23. Take a photo and get made into a print

24. Graduation scrap books

25. Make over in sewing studio

I could keep going and going but this is a small start and one I can be accountable for here and share as I go.....

So with that I will close and wish you all a Blessed New Year!

Merry Christmas

Not much has been happening here, well o.k. so a lot has been happening but more so just a busy time of the year than normal I guess, but just take one day at a time and try to breathe deep and relax and I know the rest will fall into place right!? Uhhh ya right something like that................... I did manage to start to get the village set up in the above photo on a day that we ended up with close to eight inches of snow and four feet of drifts by the doors and garage, Not a fun way to begin the winter
Becky did the Christmas tree this year.....she always does such a great job I just let her go!
I did start a scrap book for the basketball games, so far so good. I am only behind one game as of right now, so not too worried...easy layouts and more of just a memory book for her , Still time consuming but so worth it in the end.
Well here it is.....recall the friend I mentioned many posts ago that wanted to do a quilt for her mom who is undergoing chemo...well we had started the process a few mos ago and she never wanted to work on the blocks and finally now..UGH 2 days a go she thinks this process is going to be done for Cmas! Ok Reba take a HUGE DEEP BREATH here and smile and say sure comeon over we can work on a few rows ect// she gets here and says to me......: I have26 blocks so we do not have to use all of them so after 4 hours of her laying them out and looking at them......this is what we got to work on
Nice blocks and she did design all of them....the deal of this was I would HELP her sew them in rows and basically do the top the rest is up to her! But I will help where needed but HONESTLY....a week before Christmas??? Ok take another deep breath Reba and move forward this can work out fine!

We spent 2 hours on cutting the sashings which she wanted 1 inch finished so I cut them at 1.5......and proceeded to sew the rows and she loved the look as did I.......we did manage to get four of the rows completed and decided to work on the rest today.....she shows up at my house and says I changed my mind I want to do it another way......... By this time I am not smiling she decided she wants to change the entire layout...and I was not smiling or in any mood to mess with this person who has n idea how to quilt let alone know how much work it entails...

she had some photo blocks printed off at a photo place that was supposed to be on cotton poly and was almost like a nylon......they frayed so bad we could not use them well we can but I know she will not be happy with them so I decided not to even venture there, I guess her husband thinks he can do that which I am very grateful for!!! The two people that were doing some cross stitch blocks for her to place in the quilt are not even close to being done but yet I am supposed to have this done for cmas!

So I instead gathered up all of my supplies , scissors, seam ripper, I cut all the sashings they need,....I gave a very basic demo on how to tie a quilt and also how to sew the binding on.......and sent her on her way home..... not even caring now if I get the stuff back as I was so frustrated she even did this expecting this much stuff on short notice when we ALL summer and most of the fall to work on it but she didn't realize HOW MUCH WORK this was...>Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ok got that issue handled and now onto making some goodies for Christmas as I have to work the weekend and oldest daughter will only be home Thurs night late and Friday so celebrating early house is needing some much tender love and cleaning which I may get to tonight along with a ton of laundry to complete!.

How come no one ever told us growing up life was going to be this way!???

All in all life is good...we are all healthy and have so much to be thankful for!!

I wanted to not grumble but take some time and wish all of you a very Blessed Merry Christmas!

So far behind

Been a busy two weeks but an awesome one too! Hubby and I went to Morton MN to see Charley Pride, Chip has seen him before in concert and I have been a fan since a small girl and love his music so this was like a dream come true for me! In the photo above Charley is promoting his book that he wrote with Jim Henderson, the name of the book is called Pride, It is is an excellent read if you like reading a bout peoples lives!
We were in the second row and he sang some of his newer songs along with many of the older tunes as well and had a section he did on gospel.
A great night to remember!!! A good showman for sure for his age!
Last weekend we loaded up both the girls rented a suite and went to Sioux falls SD. In the above photo is Becky just hanging out the night we arrived.
In the photo above Liz enjoys the hot tub! We spent two nights, I got some reading done and the kids enjoyed their 5 hour shopping trip in the mall.....I am not a big shopper so a good book was most welcome!
I did manage a little bit of stitching,
The newest addition to the f arm was a new 4-wheeler. hubby's new toy! I did manage to catch a pic of the kids on it but have not gotten the time to unload the camera yet.

I have some long shifts at work coming up so please forgive the time lapse in posts. Eventually it does get better!

The snow missed us this time....been in the low 30's and cold but the ground is still bare!

Until next time have a great week!
