Merry Christmas

Not much has been happening here, well o.k. so a lot has been happening but more so just a busy time of the year than normal I guess, but just take one day at a time and try to breathe deep and relax and I know the rest will fall into place right!? Uhhh ya right something like that................... I did manage to start to get the village set up in the above photo on a day that we ended up with close to eight inches of snow and four feet of drifts by the doors and garage, Not a fun way to begin the winter
Becky did the Christmas tree this year.....she always does such a great job I just let her go!
I did start a scrap book for the basketball games, so far so good. I am only behind one game as of right now, so not too worried...easy layouts and more of just a memory book for her , Still time consuming but so worth it in the end.
Well here it is.....recall the friend I mentioned many posts ago that wanted to do a quilt for her mom who is undergoing chemo...well we had started the process a few mos ago and she never wanted to work on the blocks and finally now..UGH 2 days a go she thinks this process is going to be done for Cmas! Ok Reba take a HUGE DEEP BREATH here and smile and say sure comeon over we can work on a few rows ect// she gets here and says to me......: I have26 blocks so we do not have to use all of them so after 4 hours of her laying them out and looking at them......this is what we got to work on
Nice blocks and she did design all of them....the deal of this was I would HELP her sew them in rows and basically do the top the rest is up to her! But I will help where needed but HONESTLY....a week before Christmas??? Ok take another deep breath Reba and move forward this can work out fine!

We spent 2 hours on cutting the sashings which she wanted 1 inch finished so I cut them at 1.5......and proceeded to sew the rows and she loved the look as did I.......we did manage to get four of the rows completed and decided to work on the rest today.....she shows up at my house and says I changed my mind I want to do it another way......... By this time I am not smiling she decided she wants to change the entire layout...and I was not smiling or in any mood to mess with this person who has n idea how to quilt let alone know how much work it entails...

she had some photo blocks printed off at a photo place that was supposed to be on cotton poly and was almost like a nylon......they frayed so bad we could not use them well we can but I know she will not be happy with them so I decided not to even venture there, I guess her husband thinks he can do that which I am very grateful for!!! The two people that were doing some cross stitch blocks for her to place in the quilt are not even close to being done but yet I am supposed to have this done for cmas!

So I instead gathered up all of my supplies , scissors, seam ripper, I cut all the sashings they need,....I gave a very basic demo on how to tie a quilt and also how to sew the binding on.......and sent her on her way home..... not even caring now if I get the stuff back as I was so frustrated she even did this expecting this much stuff on short notice when we ALL summer and most of the fall to work on it but she didn't realize HOW MUCH WORK this was...>Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ok got that issue handled and now onto making some goodies for Christmas as I have to work the weekend and oldest daughter will only be home Thurs night late and Friday so celebrating early house is needing some much tender love and cleaning which I may get to tonight along with a ton of laundry to complete!.

How come no one ever told us growing up life was going to be this way!???

All in all life is good...we are all healthy and have so much to be thankful for!!

I wanted to not grumble but take some time and wish all of you a very Blessed Merry Christmas!

  2. That's really ridiculous! I get so frustrated with people who expect you to be a miracle worker and don't even know what they are asking and how much work is involved in the first place. I'm glad you got her hustled out the door. She had all this time. Not your fault at all. It's hers. Some people are so clueless!

Well, here's hoping the rest of the holidays go well and smoothly for you and yours! :):)
