Fun  puzzle as well  this  along with all my baking and  cleaning began the week  before  Christmas....
Youngest daughter and her  boyfriend.....spending mega hours out on the lake  ice fishing   LOL
But some girly  girl  did  not think too high  of actually taking the  fish off the  hooks.....or  holding them  for  a photo
Sooooo  she  put on the  boyfriends old  gloves to take a photo   lol//   We did  actually have  a fish  fry this  night... largest fish was  a 21 inch waleley/ they  caught  some northerns  and some  crappies as well  in their  ventures./
 opening present  Christmas  eve
Even Smokie   got in on the  act...she loves the  paper  and  bows...............

Both girls are back  to their  own places  as of yesterday and  once again the  home is  quiet... Hubby and I  have been following the girls basketball team.... and I have been super busy   with  work  and  creating  some  things for my  shop  and getting  programs on my  new PC...

Other than that not much happening here, I hope all you have had a  Blessed  Christmas  and that  2012 will bring all you wish for!!.

Brrrr...........

Good Day to all in Blog land!

Brrrrr is all I have to say today!! Mighty cold out out there, Could see our breath in the air today!
Started my day out perfect with a client, then went to town and had breakfast with some friends, Caramel rolls and tea and coffee and orange juice. I am telling you folks it does not get any better than good friends and food! We take so much for granted in all the hustle and bustle of life. So sad.
Any how....not much new happening here we are done with most of the field work, got a little plow work to complete but that is hubby's department, My department is now the home and kitchen LOL~ and of course working some and my sewing hut!! I CAN NOT WAIT to be driven to participate in this event again this year! However the first week will be some creative photography or lack there of as I am taking a trip down South to Oklahoma to visit some family~.......and thought perhaps in the event prior I will share some family history, genealogy, and how this tangled web I weave came to be through some writing and old photos down memory lane,...( an who knows by the time Nov. 1 rolls around I will perhaps change my mind as I got some stuff I want to work on for gifts,..sooooo could go either way!!

Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend and I shall return on Tueseday to begin the new events........

Renaissance Festival and Fall Blessings~

All these years in Minnesota and  I just  had my first trip to the  Renaissance  Festival so thought I would share a few   of  my  photos..... I loved the costumes and  how they  played in their  characters~
Got to talk to this beautiful bride!!
Husband and wife in dress/....pretty fall colors....
 Young and old alike...
I love this fountain......and  I had to laugh at the  basalt  stones~
No matter the shop  or the  area  they   were all pretty  in their own way~
An earth tone basket  I created    yesterday for a  local cancer benefit
I use scraps of fabric and  clothesline and my hardy stand by singer machine!!
I just had to try this  as I admire so many works in etsy  and in  various  blogs  I created  a small fabric  atc
using scraps  and  quilt as you go method,...and I tried to create a word  *FAITH* not too bad  but  lots of practice lies ahead  for me ...But still fun~

Well in my last  post  I was determining another  avenue change  in this  journey  of life... and I did  decide to dedicate full time to  my  business  starting now  October 10th..... along with  various  days when slow  assisting hubby  where I can  and  just  sewing and doing what  I can find to muse  my  hours  I guess....Indeed  a very hard  decision to make, many tears shed  as I  truly  loved what  I did,( or still do) but I guess it is  time for a  change, a leap of faith...............as I told   my supervisor  I am  departing on a wing and prayer.................................................

Hope you all  have  a  Blessed Weekend and  see you soon~

Summer Days

Well here it is almost the end of August! Where did time fly this time? It has been super busy here, between just plain *life* and getting two kids ready now for college time just slipped by me...any how...tomorrow classes resume for the college kids....and now both of my kids are there and just does not seem possible..... but it is a great thing and I am very proud of both of my daughters.... so now onto some summer happenings~ The above photo was taken in early July one morning on my way to work.... Gorgeous colors.
While back in previous post I showed you my flooded out garden....well I did end up mowing down my veggies....I simply could not keep up this year but I did manage to get some nice flowers .......
The yellow rose bush near my sewing shop..just planted it this year.

Not sure if you can see these little guys.....but while mowing I happened upon them and had to take a photo......(killdeers) Lot of them around this year
Day lilies
another lily
I am not sure what this plant is but it is in a pot on my patio and I by total mistake found my marco button on my new camera and WALLAH it blurred the back ground.....WOW I was like a little kid at Christmas time..
close up of my pink roses near the sewing shop
I went to an art/ quilt show in July as well....small one but still fun!
Snapped a photo of a water color artist at work
part of the art show

I thought these were so cool....tortoise shells painted....
I loved this display with the small table and book!!

A lady had some silversmith items there, she did some gorgeous pieces as well
another quilts.....

Part of our summer consisted again of hubby and youngest daughter playing on a softball league....they did good this year and no major injuries!!
Becky and her new found beau.... *lol* Nice young man... they have a lot in common so I guess we shall see where this dating adventure leads her!
Our local Crop duster spraying one of our fields!
A girl friend and I went to Watertown SD to see the Gatlins.....Oh what a great show.. I have been a Gatlin fan for many many years....
Of course we can not get through a Minnesota summer and not have some excitement so got a few storm cloud shots as well these were taken last week......

Vacation1

Well Prior to leaving on June 23, this is what I woke up to that morning....Makes me wonder why I have a garden I tell ya this is the worst year I have ever seen, just swamp land! :(

We took this trip as a group...SIL and her hubby went with us as well as another man. 2 Motorcycles and one car later we were on our way.....to North dakota! Due to a late start we stopped the first night in Mobridge and stayed at the Casino hotel there, ate the buffet, of course it rained, but still a positive expereicne.

Next morning we pull put early

and not far up the road....near Roscoe this is what we ran into.... not fun watching these guys on their bikes go across this...water up to the road in many places as we travelled.

Ooops this was leaving the cassino....sorry wrong order, some day I will remember this

We went across SD most of the way, stopped in Lemmon for a walk, and then went up into Hettinger and New England ND. Gorgeous areas and as soon as I get those photos uploaded I will share them with you as well,...this flower bed above is a small garden area I took out in Medora..... More on that area in a later post too...we went to the muscial they have there, love that place, The burning hills singers are wonderful.......Just prior to the musical we went to the pitch fork fondue, That is simply amazing as well to watch them place the steaks on pitch forks and fry them in drums of oil....3 minutes and you have the best steak I guarantee you will ever eat!!

The morning of the 24th we were departing Medora and came across a car show. None of us really into old cars, but we stopped and walked around any how. So if any of you like this type of thing I do have more photos if you would like to see.....

Sorry I do not know my automobils at all...... but it is fun to learn their history and see the restoration that went into them.

Summer Days

I really love the warm 80 degree days in Minnesota. when the sun is just right, very little wind, and no bugs ! Today happens to be one of those days! :) I had a day of doing really mothing~

I got up early and did one Reiki session.....did a little bit of reading, a few loads of laundy and kicked back and enjoyed the rest of the day! Ohhhh how I have craved that!

I have been busy with work, we are maing some chnages in the rehab department which have kept me busier but all for the good I hope! They say all good things take time! I have been looking for some fabric to create new curtains for the rehab room, as the ones in there now are old, dark and just needs an update! I think I am up to the task if I can find what I want!

Youngest daughter is busy packing, still waiting to hear back on apartments as to which one she will be able to get into...but we have had a good time slowly buying some stuff for her tot ake with her, we both realized in less than 8 weeks she will be gone!

Next week hubby and I are heading to Medora ND, going to take some friends with us, all on a bike,(motorcycles)....we love the hills out there and g thru the state park and take in the pitch fork Fondu and the muscial.....so photos will follow later on that subject.

My garden is a total disaster this year. It has been so wet I cna not get in it to do a good job of weeding and the grass is quickly taking over. But a few things are peeking up.... so will have a few fresh veggies,

Last night we had some rain....1.25 inches in 15 min. Along with pea size hail and wind.... no damage that we can find any how......but we certainly did not need rain!

Any how nothing new.........Hope you all have a great weekend.......Great Father's Day so until next time~~

Reba~
