We took this trip as a group...SIL and her hubby went with us as well as another man. 2 Motorcycles and one car later we were on our way.....to North dakota! Due to a late start we stopped the first night in Mobridge and stayed at the Casino hotel there, ate the buffet, of course it rained, but still a positive expereicne.
Next morning we pull put early
and not far up the road....near Roscoe this is what we ran into.... not fun watching these guys on their bikes go across this...water up to the road in many places as we travelled.
We went across SD most of the way, stopped in Lemmon for a walk, and then went up into Hettinger and New England ND. Gorgeous areas and as soon as I get those photos uploaded I will share them with you as well,...this flower bed above is a small garden area I took out in Medora..... More on that area in a later post too...we went to the muscial they have there, love that place, The burning hills singers are wonderful.......Just prior to the musical we went to the pitch fork fondue, That is simply amazing as well to watch them place the steaks on pitch forks and fry them in drums of oil....3 minutes and you have the best steak I guarantee you will ever eat!!

Oh, dear. Your garden looks like a fairy swamp land. I hope the fairies all got out OK.
ReplyDeleteThose cars are (to use a modern term) sweet. I grew up with a dad that loved old cars and now I do. Works of art.
Swampland is right! Rain-rain-rain! Depending on where you are located up here, not a good summer for gardens or farmers. I heard that about a quarter of North Dakota farmland was never able to be planted and I believe it seeing the pics.
ReplyDeleteBut there are still areas where the crops and flowers are doing okay. Those flowers in SD look beautiful! I know nothing about cars--LOL! But they are cool to look at.
Sounds like you had a great time, despite the rain. :):)
Looks like you had a memorable time. I don't know my cars either but I do like wandering around car shows and seeing all the pretty shiny colors and chrome. :)
