More Color and Good Times

Well as promised from previous post we got more color coming our way~ Prom day arrived on May 7, This was a week of nails, pedicures, hair dressers. and dress alterations!
The date arrives with the car!
Several couples going together, These girls have been friends since preschool. Almost hard to take this photo of these gorgeous young ladies!
Kids just hanging out at our home for a few hours before they head to prom!
Entering the stage!! Their Theme was "Wild at Heart"
Sisters, *laughs* who would think they would be related.?
The fun walk, just having fun!
Well now the tulips are open!!
Clematis is peeking through!!
I really need to get out there and weed, but until I can get that far, I wanted to capture these flowers while they last!

Tis a busy time on the farm, hubby is rolling some mighty long hours to get the crop in, season is late due to weather patterns being so wet AGAIN! and tonight as I work on this we have rain in the forecast after midnight, so he is rolling until the storm rolls in,

I quickly did a once over in the garden with the tiller. even though it is wet out there, I managed to get some seeds in the ground, so now to sit back and cross our fingers!! I know I am looking forward to some garden goodies!!

Until next time~ Have a great week!

Ohh So Much Color!!

A sneak preview of this coming weekend. I have a feeling it will be colorful! Have you ever seen purple and orange together? I have to admit I have not but....
I have a feeling it will be very pretty on her! :) So more updates on that next week hopefully!...This will be her Senior Prom.
Jewels seem to be the top priority so I spent a better part of a day off sewing and glueing on beads and gems...... ohhhh la la!
Ohhhhhhhh right up my alley....with graduation a few weeks away it was time tog et some plants potted.... I woke up this morning to this and just had to share my excitement
I created three different pots useing her favorite flower....(shasta daisy in jewel tone colors)
along with some geraniums and some greens to intermix
The flowers much like myself today are enjoying some sun!
So rich in hue
A few whisps of white and soft pinks to be fillers was just the right touch!
I hope now the challenge for 3 weeks will be to get them to fill out some and looking good!!

Oh I was moving along peeking in blogs as I do and I came across this.... (sorry if I mess this up as I am not techie wise when it comes to posting links..... but it is a good read and so here it is~

Easter Blessings

I love making new things, this is a process of of cream cheese and strawberry....blueberry....and chocolate chip muffins in the making for our Easter Breakfast!

Close up of the cream cheese and strawberry.

Oldest daughter turns 21 tomorrow, so hard to believe! She does get a few hours to come home and go to church with us tomorrow, so we ordered an ice cream cake for her, and going to just spend the few hours we have together visiting and then go out to eat dinner and she will be headed back to Marshall to work...not much time for us any more but I do threasure the time she allows for us,

I hope each and everyone of you have a Blessed Easter.

Creative Creations

Oh how I love it when my daughter gets a burst of *lets make a quilt * LOL this is her idea of quilting but hey, at least she decided to make a birthday gift for her best friend and it took her under 3 hours~
I am finally able to get to my shop and get some creative juice flowing again......Had a few requests for bracelets in my shop so got those made and decided to put a few up in etsy as well.
They are fun and easy to make. Not sure why I do not bead more, both of my daughters love to make things with the beads
Just a simple strand sometimes is all we need
I made a few of these and gave them to ladies at the home, no clasp on them, just use the large stone and connect into a link of the bracelet....they love these! and I love making them!
Oh art trading cards, always fun and of course I have spring on the brain.....so here is a few of what i created in the last few days.

...

The snow is melting good, been in the 40's so all is well, I might find a garden spot under the snow bank yet!!

Any how that is all from here for now, will be back in a few days to share more goodies!

Not forgotten

I can not believe how fast time flies when you get busy! *laughs* Like no one else in this world is busy!! It has been two weeks since i have even looked or been in blogger and I am far behind in posting and more important READING!!

It is cold, damp, raining with a forecast of sleet on the way later today and tomorrow. Smells like Spring outside but certainly does not feel like it!

I have been busy getting this 18 yr old ready for prom....can not wait to share the dress this year! Certainly not what mom would have picked but it looks good on her....Hope we can get someplace this weekend and look at ties for the young man and some extra hair stuff for her. Prom is May 7, so got a little ways to go and I have some things to do with the dress to complete it....

I have been busy in the scrap book world trying to get her basketball album (Sr yr) done., I have like 6 more pages to go.... that will be a huge relief for me when it is completed as I am running out of ideas.....so if any one out there has some good ideas for a lay out in a basketball theme I am open for ideas!

Not much else happening here, the garden spot is still under a 5 foot bank of snow so that is not happening any time soon, I did however buy some new pots to put out for graduation,. so got to get those seeds started soon!

Hopefully it will not be another two weeks before I return, need to set 1 day a week in the evening aside and work on this.

Blessings to all~~

The end of Basketball for Bee

On Feb 24, our daughter told us the coach was looking to house a spaghetti feed for the varsity team, but due to things being hectic in their lives...(him and his wife) and such a short notice he did not know how this was going to happen. As our daughter told the story I said we can do this!! If we all work as a team we can pull this off.....soooooooo

I made some salad, and filled a roaster full of spaghetti and 4 loaves of garlic bread.

On the night of the 25th, we housed and fed 15 girls, one coach, my husband and myself.

They came in some shifts due to other busy things but that was ok, no one went away hungry!

Even had a few show up that were not on varsity but we fed them any how LOL

I would not have missed this for the world! These young ladies were totally awesome, not just as a team but to sit back and listen to them all visit and their poor coach he is soo sadly out-numbered....but with a continuous smile on his face.... he just chimed right in!

chatter chatter chatter

they all got up said thanks I even got a huge hug from the coach and many of the girls and they thanked us for allowing this to happen on such a short notice....

they went back for more and talked for a good hour...good times good company

I did not leave my kitchen..... but I did not complain this time.... :)

as they completed and got done the wii came out and the tunes went on and those girls

danced......shared......cried and laughed.......danced some more

and some more...this night was almost as a good as prom night to a parent, to see them all as a *family* and team and having fun....
The house sure got quiet when they all left but was so awesome and I am so thankful I was a ble to do this for the team!

Last night we played 3 AA sections, our second conference game and we lost.....so my daughters high school basketball career comes to an end....

Had some rough plays.....touch defense..... we had a few turn overs and some missed free throw shots.... and in the end it all matters and of course cost the game

But they still had fun......

Until the final buzzer came to an end of course but we led most of the game and simply could not make it back but we made them work for it!!

All of a sudden this little young lady (8th grader) comes up to Bee and says "I have watched you play since I was little and I want to be like you, you have inspire me so much " Thats when mom lost it!!! Any how she asked for a photo :) Touching but emotions running high for me and for my daughter!!
This morning as I got up at 3 a.m. getting ready for work and grumbling about the weather and another load of laundry.... more tears fell as I realized I would never again wash number 34!!
Makes me wonder what we will call normal now!! 7 years of basketball... thanks for allowing me to share part of the journey! :)
