A GLIMPSE OF VACATION

We left at 6 a.m. from home and met up with some friends in Milbank SD who were going to travel along with us, This is the first time our daughters had been through Mobridge SD, so took a photo of the bridge and the Missouri river for their books.
Our first stop was in Lemmon SD,we stopped at the petrified forest
Another spot in the petrified forest. back when I was a kid it did not look anything like this. but certainly gorgeous now!
After we left Lemmon, we went up what they call the enchanted Hwy, a local artist in the area did some metal sculptures. I only posted a few to give you an idea....I thought they were so cool
Grasshopper metal sculpture
As soon as we hit the interstate this was the final one and my favorite one!
Part of the ND badlands near Medora
We drove the Medora Badlands south loop hoping to see some wild horses. but this was the extent of the wild life we saw LOL>
Back in Medora, we stayed here the first night and took in what was called the pitch fork Fondu. Steaks, baked spuds and baked beans were the supper, It rained some so they served hot beverages and bars for desert. Well worth going to if you pass this area in Medora ND
This is one of the scenes from the musical
Another scene at the musical
Towards the end of the show, again if you have not ever taken in the musical in Medora. it is worth the trip and time. This is my 4th time there in 20 yrs and I love it every time I go.
Photo of the Yellostone River. Picnic grounds where we stopped to take a stretch,
Not very often you see us as a family of 4. but here we are in Redlodge MT
Bear tooth pass
Still a lot of snow up there,
I always told my husband he could never deny that youngest daughter...a random shot while we are waiting for our food in Cooke City
Lower falls in the background in yellowstone...we did take the hike, was a good walk but the air in the mtns really made me burn in the lungs
We saw many buffalo on the trip
One of the bears we saw in early hours.
This little black one was coming right at us. Great shot and made my day!!
Fathers Day so of course I had to do this!
Earth Quake Lake,
Paint Pots
Old Faithful put on a great show!
heading towards the Grand Tetons.
I love the Tetons, my favorite area. We took a picnic near the mtns and got some good shots.
Tetons again
Leaving the park we were in the Big Horn Mtns heading for Gillette and was a storm brewing
I love the colors!
hubby said naaa just s alight rain Im like Oh no it s not!! We got hit in Gillette with hail and 60 mph winds, was not a comfortable night at all,
The girls were small when we last had them to the black hills in SD so we went home that way.....this is Mount Rushmore near Custer SD....I used to live in Custer before Moving to MN
My girls at Mt Rushmore.

I took over 350 photos on the trip but this was a small glimpse of it that I wanted to share with all of you. Hope you enjoy............so now we are back home and it is back to reality time, laundry. garden...housework... yuck...but I am glad I am able to do it so back to reality and wishing all of you in blog land a great weekend!! Looking better

I just happened to go outside and came around the corner and thought to myself these two are up to no good! I wonder what my little dog seems to think he sees down in the holes of the bricks, He certainly facinated by them
We are still trying to dig this stump out,. 3 years now we have been at this so my husband decided to burn it some to see if we can manage to get this to split. Was a huge tree and of course our favorite that came down a few years ago when we had some severe weather, the same yr we lost our grain bins. The yard was a huge mess then....so this is till some remnants to clean up.
Well got a good start now in the garden..spuds to the left...closest in the middle I am trying to raise a few broccoli for a friend this yr....and up the row a bit of course are onions.

I decided to create a garden of flowers. WHY I am not sure...so this is a bran new area dug up by hand and I planted a few things in it that hopefully will spread and grow further in years to come!! *cross your fingers* I can raise one heck of a veggie garden but I am not so sure about flowers and plants!
This is an annual plant and looks like mini candy corn.....kind of neat supposed to vine up ..so we shall see!
Isnt this red fabulous! I fell in love with the color ...every garden and home should have a splash of red!
and pink
Looking at it from a distance.....kind of bare yet but it will get better!!

Have a good week!!

Happy Hump Day

Well as usual we get busy and I work over time hours and get lost in the track of time and then get a day off and want to play catch up in all the things I love to do and one of those for what ever reason is blog land!! I love coming online and reading what everyone is up to and looking at your photos hobbies and views and muse!! I just don't want any one thinking I do not read them as I do that more often than I post.......so following along you will now see what we have been busy in....

The photo above is a before photo of a project that I decided I needed to tackle and now I am wondering WHY I wanted to do this...what a mess!!
It is an old milking parlor that is no longer really used other than a tossing room to get clutter off the yard..... hmmmmm....Oh the possibilities I can do here
Here is one of the walls completed in dark brown..... Got a few tools hanging up and organized now
Mothers day weekend we were busy in Marshall moving our college daughter into her first apartment, she has the cutest 1 bedroom apt. perfect for her.....the 2 girls took off and came back with these gorgeous gerber daisies and baloon for me for mothers day and we all went out to eat! Was a great day
Happening on the farm..well where do I begin...Its a mess isn't it! LOL
But the crew is working hard on it and our border collie Felix makes sure it is done right!
Pouring cement
Final inspector of the farm Chance, he was not too sure what to think of all the commotion!! But they did a lot of brick layed
Getting ready to create an additional parking or patio area, I plan to use it for both
I came home from work to this yesterday.....cement poured and drying I love it!!
We are still tore up but it is looking a little better than last week
Well as you all know I love to garden and have a great start this year!! things are slowly peeking through the ground..Yummmy!

Between the garden and remodel project and getting oldest established and working and trying to stay on top of the Reiki business and school events I feel like sometimes I do not have time to come up for air! This week I am cleaning out a few closets and going to place some items on E-bay!! Its just got to be done!! Time to down size....How and WHY do we manage to collect so much stuff!!

Well until next time...... Have a great week!
