You know I received an email last night from an old high school friend with some old photos attached......asking me if this was my family line.... I went to the web site and just felt so many emotions rolling all at once I can not even begin to find the words to describe... Let me tell you the ART of the internet has been wonderful for me in finding my family on both sides....The above photo is of my dad and his sister......Taken in PA. I am guessing about 1922. My dad was born late 1920
This photo is of my late Uncle Don and his father Homer.....I never got to meet this family...talked to Uncle Don many times as a child on the phone but never got to meet him....and to see the family resemblance looking at my grandfather in this photo amazed me how much my own father looked like that and stood like that as well!
This photo was called the Grove Brothers....the man on the far right Would be my great grandfather..... He passed away in 1945..... My dad was discharged from the Army in 1945. Man I wish I could find some old family journals or diaries......
My dad rarely spoke on his family...........I do understand it now why but never did as a child and in the last seven years I have been trying to do some documentation on family history and a family book and each time I think I have it about whipped....something new comes my way!
Blessings to all~

ReplyDeleteI don't think past generations documented life as we might now. They surely didn't have the Internet, or blogs. It's all so easy now. But the photos survived, thankfully. I wonder if digital photos will survive the generations to come.

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to get these precious photos. I totally understand how emotional it must have been to see them. Enjoy!
